Natural Organic Yoga Mats

An Eco Yoga Mat, (eco short for eco-friendly), is an earth-conscious alternative to a regular Yoga mat.  Eco-Friendly, Organic Yoga mats are much better for the environment. These Natural, Organic, Yoga Mats are also better for you.  Eco Yoga Mats are much better for you because they are made from safe non-toxic materials. Many of the traditional Yoga Mats are made from or contain PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) that throws off a poisonous gas. Traditional mats might feel cushy while you practice, but you are still breathing in those deadly gases from the PVC.  Eco Friendly Yoga Mats do not contain PVC and so they are much healthier for you to practice on.

• Rubber  is a plant made from tropical rubber trees

• PER (Polymer Environmental Resin)  is a non-toxic synthetic plastic, that contains no heavy metals

  

How to Choose a Good Yoga Mat

Most of the natural, organic yoga mats are made from a combination of the materials listed above. The Original Eco-Friendly Yoga mat was rated #1 by the New York Times. What makes this mat so special? It’s composed completely of natural rubber and jute. The bottom of the Original Eco Yoga mat is made of rubber and that keeps it from slipping while you do your Yoga. The top part of the mat is a combination of rubber and a jute fabric. The jute is soft and the overall feel of the mat is soft, yet not so spongy that you will find it difficult to balance. This particular style comes in two different lengths and there are color options available. 

Another popular model of the Eco-Friendly Yoga Mats is the Jade Harmony Mat. These mats are made of all natural rubber and come in six different colors. They are also available in two different lengths. A great asset to these particular mats is that they are quite easy to clean. Simply wash with warm water and mild soap then lay flat or hang to dry. 

Cotton Yoga rugs are also wonderful for Yoga practice. These are best used over a Sticky Mat™ to prevent slipping if you are using a Yoga rug indoors. Improving the world in whatever ways we can makes life better for all. It is a responsibility we share; we have a shared obligation to improve and protect the environment in whatever ways we can. Recycling cans and bottles, using cloth or paper instead of plastic bags are things we can all do to make the best use of the resources that have already been spent to create those products once.  Just by living conscious of the impact that products have on the environment and our health is actually living smart.
